The mission of the Solidarity Apothecary is to materially support communities with plant medicines to strengthen collective autonomy, self-defense and resilience to climate change, capitalism and state violence.
Their main focus is making and distributing plant medicines to people experiencing state violence and repression. This includes people being arrested, on trial, imprisoned, detained or recovering from these experiences, as well as prisoner families, frontline organisers and more.
Herbal Solidarity can be in form of care packages, one-to-one support or as part of a mobile clinic. They also work with refugees in Calais, Northern France as part of an integrative mobile clinic with Herbalists without Borders UK-Calais.
In an environment where conventional civilian medical infrastructure is under attack , wounded people (both civilians and soldiers) are more likely to die from easily preventable injuries.
The Solidarity Apothecary also distributes the book The Prisoner’s Herbal to people in prison worldwide. Through popular education and collective learning about plant medicines, people can reclaim traditional knowledge, as well as learn from new research and science in herbal medicine. In an environment where conventional civilian medical infrastructure is under attack , wounded people (both civilians and soldiers) are more likely to die from easily preventable injuries.
Ukraine Herbal Solidarity
A team of Ukrainian and international herbalists with medicines grown, made and donated from all over the world.
We are currently working from a gas station where hundreds of refugees pass through on coaches every single day. In the first 6 days of the clinic, we distributed more than 3000 medicines. We also send medicines direct to Ukraine via contacts on the ground.
